My name is Zin Min Htwe, and I’m from Myanmar. I’m currently a third-year student in the Department of Management at Shizuoka Sangyo University, where I study bookkeeping and accounting.
In high school, I started thinking seriously about my future and decided to study in Japan, as it has one of the highest education standards in Asia.
I chose Shizuoka because of its rich natural environment, warm climate, and relatively low cost of living compared to major cities. Additionally, Shizuoka is a welcoming place for international students. I was especially drawn to the opportunity to connect with the local community through international exchange events and regional activities.
My favorite place is Mount Fuji. Even when I was in Myanmar, I associated Japan with Mount Fuji and always dreamed of living near it. That dream was one of the key reasons I chose to study in Shizuoka.
Living here as an international student, I find that Shizuoka’s beautiful natural surroundings create a refreshing environment that helps me focus on my studies. It is also conveniently located near major cities like Tokyo and Nagoya, which broadens my job-hunting opportunities.
At university, I serve as the president of the International Exchange Group, where students from various countries can interact and build friendships. One of my most unforgettable experiences was working with group members to run food stalls selling Myanmar and Chinese cuisine at the university festival.
After graduation, I hope to work in Japan and gain valuable experience, and eventually take that knowledge back to Myanmar. My goal is to become a bridge between the two countries.
For those considering studying abroad, it is a great opportunity to broaden your horizons and grow in a new environment. Let’s take on this challenge together and do our best!
