Global Talent & Shizuoka Companies Networking Event 2026 Successfully Held in Hamamatsu and Shizuoka

The Global Talent & Shizuoka Companies Networking Event 2026, organized by The Consortium of Universities & Local Communities in Shizuoka and implemented by the Shizuoka International Business Association (SIBA), was successfully held at two venues: Hamamatsu and Shizuoka.

The Hamamatsu venue took place on June 17 (Wednesday) at Sanaru Hall, Shizuoka University Hamamatsu Campus, while the Shizuoka venue was held on July 16,  (Thursday) at the 7th Floor of AOI Shizuoka Concert Hall. The events created valuable opportunities for networking between companies based in Shizuoka Prefecture and both international and Japanese students studying at universities and graduate schools in the prefecture.

The primary objective of the event was to promote employment opportunities and long-term career development for international talent within companies in Shizuoka Prefecture.

On the day of the event, 15 Shizuoka-based companies participated at each venue. Approximately 90% of the participating students were international students, while the remaining 10% were Japanese students. Students from diverse backgrounds visited company booths and had the opportunity to speak directly with company representatives about their businesses, job responsibilities, desired candidate profiles, internship programs, and recruitment opportunities.

Throughout the event, company representatives introduced not only their businesses but also shared stories about the success of international employees, workplace culture, and career development after joining their organizations. Students actively asked questions and engaged in meaningful conversations with company representatives. At the same time, companies gained valuable insights into the perspectives, expectations, and career aspirations of international students, resulting in lively and productive discussions throughout the event.

Both the Hamamatsu and Shizuoka venues provided a welcoming and friendly atmosphere where students visited multiple company booths, deepened their understanding of each company's strengths, and learned more about working in Shizuoka.
